Indicators of Educational Interpreter Competency
 
 
The Indicators of Educational Interpreter Competency was developed by ISLR with the assistance of the ISLR Advisory Committee and ITP instructors in Ohio. The purpose of this document is to provide a way some of the competencies in the Ohio Guidelines for Educational Interpreters could be measured.
 
Possible uses for the Indicators of Educational Interpreter Compentency:
  • By a school district for hiring or evaluation purposes
  • By an interpreter developing a portfolio for a job application or for self-evaluation
  • By a mentor-mentee to discuss skill and knowledge areas
  • By an ITP measuring competencies of their graduates
