Multi-Factored Evaluations

The Multi-Factored Evaluation Center at the Ohio School for the Deaf provides comprehensive assessments for students residing in the state of Ohio who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Working in cooperation with the Local Educational Agency (the child's home district), the MFE Team provides in-depth evaluations at no cost in the areas of:

  • Audiology
  • Speech and Language Pathology
  • American Sign Language (ASL) Assessments
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Comprehensive Psychological Assessments
  • Adaptive Behavior Educational Assessments (Math and Reading)
  • Physical Health Screenings
  • Eye screenings
  • Transition Assessments (by request and as available)

Individual Team Members present their findings to families and school representatives the day of testing. The members will then complete an Evaluation Team Report (ETR) to assist districts and parents in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The report also fulfills mandatory state requirements for 3-year evaluations for students with disabilities.
