Denyse Woods currently serves as the Director for the Center of Outreach Services and the Early Learning Center for both the Ohio School for the Deaf and the Ohio State School for the Blind, as well as the Interim Superintendent for the Ohio State School for the Blind.  Previously, Ms.Woods was the preschool-12 principal at the Ohio School for the Deaf for four years.  Her career started as an Intervention Specialist/Teacher of the Deaf in the Columbus Hearing Impaired Program in the Columbus City School District working with early elementary classrooms (preschool-3).

In her own educational journey, Ms. Woods is a true Ohio State buckeye as she holds three degrees from The Ohio State University. Initially she worked and received a Bachelor of Art in Deaf Studies and then a Master of Education in Deaf Education.  After teaching for six years, Ms.Woods returned to OSU for a Master of Art in Educational Administration. 

 

Mr. Cameron CraneCameron Crane

Mr. Cameron Crane has over 16 years of varied experience in the field of Deaf Education. He is the State of Ohio’s state-wide Outreach Consultant, through The Ohio School for the Deaf (OSD). Before joining the OSD in January 2006, Mr. Crane worked in both teaching and supervisory capacities at the Willie Ross School for the Deaf in Massachusetts and in mainstream Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing programs in both Olympia, Washington and Portland, Oregon.Additionally, Mr. Crane has taught leadership skills to behavior disorder students, technology skills to general education students, and English language to students in central Mexico.

He received his M.A. in Deaf Education from Lewis and Clark College in 2000. He received his Masters in Library and Information Science degree from Kent State University in 2013, with an emphasis on school resources for professionals working with deaf and hard-of-hearing children. In 2013, he also received a Fulbright Student Research Fellowship that supported travel to India, in order to research and develop online resources for Indian teachers and professionals who work with the Deaf. In 2006, he completed the Education Consultant Training Program for Cochlear Implants through Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He received his B.A. in 1995 from Sonoma State University in Gender Studies, with a focus on women and education in the developing world.



Mrs. Molly EstesMolly Estes

Molly Estes is a native American Sign Language (ASL) signer, who works at the Center for Outreach Services at the Ohio School for the Deaf as an ASL Specialist. For over 15 years, she has been teaching and evaluating ASL.  She is genuinely dedicated to ensuring that each and every student and staff gain knowledge and fluency in ASL.  Ms. Estes evaluates the sign language skills of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students from all over Ohio as part of the Student Assessment Center team. She was involved with developing a K-12 curriculum for learning ASL as a first language. She is a Sign Language Proficiency Interview:ASL (SLPI:ASL) Coordinator/Trainer and on National SLPI:ASL Leadership Board (NSLB). Molly also holds Professional American Sign Language Teacher Association (ASLTA) certification.  Ms. Estes obtained a Master’s Degree in Sign Language Teaching in December 2012.  She was asked to review the ASL Standards for America Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) book for K-12 and post secondary by the national ASL Standards committee.  For the last eight years, Ms. Estes has been developing and designing the sight word DVDs and dictionary in ASL, used by Ohio School for the Deaf.
