PARENT ORGANIZATIONS
Parent-Staff Association (PSA)
The Parent Staff Association (PSA) is open to any parent or guardian of an OSD student, and to all staff employed at OSD. The goals of this organization include:
- Working to improve parent/school communications
- Help parents find and gather information they need about OSD and deafness in general
- Encourage parents to develop the communication skills necessary to converse with their deaf child
- Help in fundraising efforts to purchase needed items and equipment for OSD students.
The PSA Committee consists of:

Treasurer
The officers are elected each year in November during the OSD Parent Open House. The Committee meets the first Sunday of the month during the school year, with adjustments for state holidays and school breaks.
PSA members are participate in many events throughout the school year, affording parents an opportunity to be involved with their student’s activities. Some of the events we typically need parent support for are:
- Registration Day
- Open House
- Alumni Day
- Homecoming
- Family Gathering Weekend
- PSA Festival
- Staff Appreciation
- Graduation
The annual PSA Festival is our main fund-raising event. Held in May (rain or shine), the Festival is a fun time for students, families, and the community. The Festival typically includes, rides, games, food, shows, exhibits, and a Silent Auction.

Booster Club
The Booster Club helps support the OSD Athletic Program. The Club hosts an annual summer barbecue and donates the proceeds to our Sports Programs. They also sell a wide variety of OSD specialty items such as sweatshirts, T-shirts, hats, ties, water bottles and more. Membership is $10.00 per person. If you are interested in joining the Booster Club, look for their booth during Registration Day and other special events on campus, such as Alumni Day, Homecoming, and the PSA Festival.
